Texas kings of swing “A Sleep At The Wheel” released two years ago a very good and different Christmas album. 2007 was the year that “Santa loves to Boogie” saw the light and with the Christmas fever on its height it might not be a bad idea to take out that album once more!

On Santa Loves to boogie the band is helped out on a handful of occasions by some of their friends!  And believe me these friends are worth having for more then one reason.
“Dale Watson” sings on “Hot Texas Christmas Day”, Willie Nelson takes on Pretty
paper while Jack Ingram is featured on the classic Rudolph the Red nose Reindeer and Christmas in Texas is done by Kevin Fowler. Santa Loves to boogie brings as well some classic tunes like Silent Night and I’ll be home for Christmas as it comes with self penned tunes like “Santa Loves to Boogie” and Christmas in Texas. Don’t expect the usual “wheel” here but on many occasions the band gives a great twist on these tunes! Specially on tunes like Christmas in Texas, Hot Texas Christmas Day or Santa loves to boogie the band shows how to rock

A Sleep At The Wheel is already active since 1970 and has released over twenty studio albums and still these guys are giving the best of them as much as they can. Recently they released a very good “Best of album” and with the upcoming Willie Nelson and A sleep at the wheel they will produce once more another milestone. On Santa Loves to boogie they bring some good swing/western swing music adapted to that season of the year. A nice alternative for your radio during those days!
